10 July 2019
Is the type of baler door only a question of personal preference? Is it really worth considering when purchasing such a device? What type of doors are available on the market and what are the differences between various types? The answer to these questions can be found in the article below.
Different door options – necessity or only convenience?
Selection of a baler suitable for your company is not easy – it requires consideration of various features of the device. It is obvious that you check what type of waste can be compacted, how much waste can be processed at once or how much energy it consumes. Therefore, at first glance, it may seem unnecessary to think about the type of a baler's door. And if you take this issue into consideration, you may think that this is only a question of convenience. Are you sure? Not necessarily.
When selecting balers for waste, various aspects should be verified, including construction and applied technologies, because not only the comfort of use, but also the usability and functionality of the device depends on them. The type of the baler's door significantly affects the comfort and efficiency of the device - especially when the machine is used in a small space.
Decipher the abbreviations, that is the types of doors in balers
Balers can be equipped with a standard door. The majority of our machines has such a door. But balers can also have special doors, marked with these abbreviations: SD, VD, FD or AD. It's time to decipher the abbreviations!
The majority of our balers is equipped with standard doors, opened to the left. The obvious advantage of this type of door is easy and intuitive handling. This solution is ideal for standard spaces where it is not necessary to optimize the space being used.
If you are looking for other solutions that are both practical and modern – check AD automatic door, FD flap door, VD vertical door and SD semi-automatic door.
VD Vertical Door
This design significantly facilitates the loading of waste from both sides of the device, as well as reduces the space required to operate the baler. The device is closed and opened by the operator manually. You simply need to manually open the door using the handle and close it in the same way after loading the waste.
This type of door is worth considering if the baler will be placed in a narrow space or near the communication passage.
Vertical door is optionally installed in B5 Wide, B20 and B30 balers.
SD Semi-automatic Door
SD Semi-Automatic Door requires the operator to manually close the machine downwards, but opening them after completing the press cycle is carried out automatically.
The door is always open, which makes it easy to add waste into the chamber at any time.
The new type of SD vertical door is used in B30 Wide, B50 (novelty) and B50 XL (novelty).
AD Automatic Door
Automatic doors in balers ensure the highest possible efficiency and comfort of work of the operator during waste loading. They stay open by default, thus guaranteeing easy and quick loading, and the door closes after pressing the button that starts the press cycle.
After compaction is completed, the door opens again, allowing the next waste to be loaded.
This type of door is used in the following the premium models: X25, X30 and X50.
FD Flap Door
The flap door is a perfect solution which not only reduces the space occupied by the machine, but also significantly facilitates placing waste in the chamber. The flap door is ideal for compaction of small and loose waste, such as PET bottles, preventing them from spilling during loading, as well as after opening the chamber door.
The flap door is opened and closed manually using a horizontal handle.
Balers equipped with the FD flap door are: X25, X30, X50, as well as our new product – PC24 HD.
